Harris concentrates his practice in the area of domestic and international Intellectual Property law, patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, opinions on patentability, invalidity, and right to use. He provides litigation support and counseling to companies in connection with securing and expanding intellectual property rights worldwide. He specializes in providing strategic and commercial counseling to leverage intellectual property strategies and to maximize and achieve business objectives. 

He has worked with several of our clients that were starting business organizations based on significant Intellectual Property assets in providing investigations into ownership and protection for those assets. He has dealt with the encroachment by others on the rights in names and trademarks held by our clients. He has drafted agreements to protect the rights of our clients where significant Intellectual Property interests were involved. 

Harris has corporate experience with a major multinational consumer products company, where he was involved with the preparation and global prosecution of all patent applications for a single product category, management of invention record prioritization and annuity reviews, conducting patentability, validity, infringement and clearance investigations, and preparation of all intellectual property related agreements. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science, an undergraduate degree, in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College and a law degree (Juris Doctor) from Brooklyn Law School, and has extensive law firm and corporate experience in the Intellectual Property field. 

Harris is a registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the State Bar of New Jersey and the bars of several other states. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the International Intellectual Property Society (current Treasurer, Immediate Past President), the New York State Bar Association and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the International Intellectual Property Society (current Treasurer; immediate Past President), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA), and Entrepreneurís Organization (EO).
